Giles Elrington .Mr Magic Man!

I approached Dr Elrington in sheer desperation .. my daughter had been diagnosed with epilepsy in her final year at high school and spent the next 6 years or so being prescribed a range of anti-epileptic drugs in an attempt to control seizures. Prior to her epileptic seizures she had been a confident fun-loving young person who loved to participate in a variety of activities including dance, drama, singing, sport ....she even got as far as her Duke of Edinburgh Gold award but sadly was unable to complete. 6th form college studies were a real challenge and later, having embarked on a Performing Arts degree, it was suggested that she should withdraw ..because of her seizures.

During the coming months I saw my daughter deteriorate before my eyes and I felt powerless to do anything. I witnessed her spark...her personality ... her confidence being dramatically eroded ...she lost a great deal of weight ..reducing from around 9 stones to barely 5 and a half and the clothes in her wardrobe hung on her once rounded and shapely form. I was losing her fast and had to do something!

Our appointment with Dr Elrington proved to be real break through and definitely gave my daughter a second chance to re-shape her life. Here was a gentleman who was prepared to listen........I'd done a huge amount of research, kept notes and diairies.. accompanied my daughter to numerous medical appointments - with overt critiicism from previous professionals because I was seen as an interfering, over-protective mother...but on this occasion I was greeted warmly and my views and accounts were taken seriously.

My daughter has now ..at 25 .. gone 3 years without seizures, is driving, has a lovely home with a really supportive partner and she is back at Uni ...what more could any parent want?

I am immensely proud of my daughter's achievements and even more thankful that we learned about Dr Elrington in time to get her back in charge of her own life.
